help with 3D.

Thanks for the idea, not thought about using fences, I want it to appear that my skyscrapers are sunk down abit. You can see on previous posts I have tried stones and hedges. I will have to try fences, and see which I prefer.

And I like the idea of the UFO hidden away in a hole.

For what you want to do, I think the bushes or the stone walls would work best, but I would be curious to see how it looks done with fence. The bushes tend to give it more of a step down into the hole where the fences tend to give the illusion of flat walls. So it really depends on what you are after.

I just bought the skyscraper and magnifying glass, so now I am done with big purchases and get to bring in the bulldozers and flatten my house farm. Which is where I plan on moving the UFO bunker to and making my own little area51 in Springfield.

Not bad, but to sell it better, would try losing the hedges and aligning the top of the fences to the top of the gray pavement. If you need hedges or walls around the perimeter, I think it would be better to align the top of the fence to the top of the gray rather than having it overlap the hedge, which dilutes the illusion by making it noticeable that we are looking at fences.

Next, would use bushy trees to conceal spots where the fence doesn't make it rather than using overlapping fences. This would require having a strip of non-pavement free at the bottom and on the right side.

Alternately, you can stick with the stepped hedges, which look neat.

Tried it again with the fences, I had to use trees for the front to try and create the perspective, I can always change the trees, use different types etc etc,

getting there, i bet if you deleted the bottom and far-right strips of pavement (i.e., turn gray to the default green) while leaving everything else alone, it will look more like the trees are at ground level, looking down into the pit

And actually, looking at it again, I think it looks better with a border around it.

I quickly just did this in my town to show you how it looks. You only need trees in a few spots.
