10 donuts for New Years?

I was pleasantly surprised by 10 donuts.

What really made me laugh (and apologies if this was you Dear Reader) were those people who got the 10 donuts and then rushed Homer's last job at a cost of 12 donuts which left them -2 donuts down overall.

    "Patience is a virtue"

    LOL
    I did that :p

In my defense I didn't really care and just wanted to share the screenshots of what happens at the end of the 24 hour task with the site.

Also the amusement of the dialog made me not have the patience to wait 24 hours either.

Personally, I thought the ten donuts were a nice little side bonus to close out another major event. They weren't expected but always welcome.

@ThomasNMn - a simple trick to keep fictional characters from controlling your mind, if you don't like Josh's conversation starters don't read them. They're normally quite entertaining until posters like yourself take the discussion in a different direction.

    @JoshSherer - excellent restraint :thumbup:

I realize I shouldn't have changed the topic from the original intent of this thread, but just wanted to share something that I thought was funny and the realization came to me when reading the latest manifesto by the OP.

I am all for the OP and everyone else on this forum for sharing a personal opinion and have no issues with whatever that opinion may be. I feel it crosses the line when this same person is constantly demanding that his opinion is the only correct one, regardless of the costs. There have been more than one occasion where I have seen the OP demean, be-little and insult anyone that dare disagree with what he has to say. I have witnessed him calling others idiots, derps, butthurt and neckbeards for disagreeing with him. There is no need for that. He could use his intelligence to fashion a considerate reply and engage the discussion instead of allowing it to turn into complete chaos. But, then of course, he would be breaking character.

Do I believe that the OP is smart? Yes. Do I find him funny? At times. Do I think that his routine is getting old? Most definitely!

It becomes an issue for me, and I assume others, when the type of attitude that the OP offers to the community becomes the ideal and is idolized by others. I have started a few threads, and I have personally witnessed other noobies start threads, where the original idea has quickly degenerated from the original topic into a total and complete snarkfest, with everyone trying to out JoshJereer one another. My original question, which was an issue that I was experiencing with the game, was never addressed by those that took the time to respond. Instead, all the replies were simply made by the disciples of the OP.

Okay, I get it, Josh is a God around these parts. Great. Not so great when it affects the entire community and forum. I am of the opinion that much of the dysfunction that is found on these pages is primarily because of the tone that is set forth by the OP. This, imho, is scaring many, many people away. Instead of attacking those of us that disagree with the OP being God, simply allow us to have our own voice in the community. Is that too much to ask?

I, too am a premium player, having purchased 2 boatloads this past holiday season. I enjoy the game. Are there problems with it, yes. However, it was MY choice to make the purchase. EA did not force me to buy anything. I could have played for free. I made the decision to support the game in the current state. Do I feel I am getting sc*d over? No, I wouldn't have spent money otherwise. Stop trying to blame EA for the decision that you made in making a purchase. You aren't getting sc*d over by anyone but yourself.

Okay, rant done. Sorry for the long post. OP, keep making the forum more interesting. Disciplines, keep defending his every move. The rest of us will just cower in the corner and mind our own business. But please, stop trying to infect our conversations with this entitled attitude.

I legitimately lol'd at this post and I'm at work so that's not good. Anyway, 2 points I want to address. First, while I lol'd when you referenced me calling people "idiots, derps, butthurt, and neckbeards, those types of responses were only after people kept insulting me. At a certain point, I will push back. Also, you don't call someone a derp...it's a sound you make when someone asks a dumb question...my derps may have been unprovoked, but the rest are all provoked. I am happy though that you saw the derps and neckbeard posts...classic.

Second, I actually agree with you about people here trying to out-JoshJeerer each other. I lol'd at that and I'm damn proud of it. I truly am a god. Before I came along, people here were constantly super friendly and polite with one another. Every post was followed with a smiley. Tons of compliments and happiness. It was all rainbows and butterflies. It made me sick to my stomach. I took the garden of Eden and turned it into a real place. No fake Brady bunch happy lovefest. I'm glad I succeeded.
  • Interesting how the content of this thread changes from day to day. So much drama.
  • Welcome back Josh.

But 10 donuts was a nice addition to the all the nice free items that were available. I have recently become a premium buyer (I would have my head examined but I traded it for a boatload), so any little addition to my horde is welcome.

Except when he portrays fiction as fact regarding EA's villiany. That's what I will always call him on...when he makes a prediction formed out of predisposed hatred and then treats it as the truth. It detracts from whatever genuine issues exist.

Listen! Did you near that? It went "Pffffffffffffff". Thats the sound of your butt cheeks synching together as the universe laughs.
