- barryriddl474Seasoned NewcomerIf I may, I would recommend doing away with the chain fence entirely. I wish I could just log into your town and fix it, but try hedges instead of the fencing. It will fix/hide many issues, like the way the iron railing doesn't match on the right side.
Also, remove the whole front line of iron railings and fencing, and replace with hedges. You can remove those trees on the left side that is hiding what the iron railing is doing (staggered).
Plus, if it were me, I'd make it bigger. I start at the furthest corner (back right if you were viewing from the front) and build from there.
If you really want to jazz it up, have all of the iron railings (used in 3D pit) face out, and have chain fencing facing in. Here's something I did. You can see the hedge and the double layering on the fencing, which, to me, makes it look a little more unique:
Cobblestone walls also work.
Hope this made sense. barryriddl474 wrote:

Nice! I may do that depending on what people think of the current state now...

AMAZING! :)- ZennGlennRising NewcomerGroovy stuff... getting further inspired for some upcoming rainy day townscaping upgrade projects 8)
- Quickly: Barry, I've been sorely tempted to appropriate (a nicer word than steal) your double-fence method. It's just so unique I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I'll add that hedges are tricky. Sometimes they behave like cobblestone walls (you can overlap them to form a v but not a ^, and you can combine them with fences without any gaps showing). Other times, you can't. In my town right now, I can't use hedges to do a pit design but I can use cobblestone walls. After every update I check since I want to finish a couple designs.
Edit: While I was typing this, Maxim posted his great design. For those interested in this sort of thing, I'll mention that the way the cobblestone overlaps the fence in the far right corner is not possible in my game with hedges. Not now, but it has been in the past. This is why I was cautioning against hedges, but I see it wasn't necessary. maximbarne126 wrote:

I think this looks much better. You can add another 2 sections of chain fence on the left, and rehighlight the cobblestone walls to make it blend.Pinpal00 wrote:

I know what you mean about the walls and hedges, Scott. Sometimes they cooperate, and sometimes they don't. I find that re-highlighting the wall or hedge often will hide the fencing, and make the hedge/wall more prominent. I could not blend, for the life of me, the fencing with the spooky walls. I wish we could still combine the cobblestone walls, like before, to make a single piece when needed.
Thanks regarding the layering. Tried it one day and now I try to do it to all my pits. barryriddl474 wrote:

The cobblestone walls still can you can only do it once tho apparently but even though we can do that I wish they had a small 1x1 wall and also make the training walls and concrete walls meet
