4th of July gift from EA?

That's a good thought. Since those of us in the US celebrate our 'independence' on the Fourth, why not give us land... like the land we stole from the people who were here first?

Brilliant!
  • It's not something they can just hand out. The problem as I understand it is memory limitations in mobile devices. The game has to be kept compatible with the lowest common denominator. Unless you want to see a message one day saying "Out of memory. Buy a newer phone to keep playing after this mandatory update!"

What are the chances that EA will give us land for the 4th? It seems like an appropriate gift.
    What does everyone think?

How many different ways are people going to ask for more land...
but I have to give it to you, this was nicely veiled request 8)
  • I think we'll just get rereleases & 5 donuts. I highly doubt new land will be given out anytime soon.

It seems to help your post count as you're sure to post in every one if them

As opposed to flaming and personal attacks favored by some

Unfortunately, it's not that simple... But in turn, it IS that simple. :)

The idea is that the entire area doesn't need to be loaded into memory at once. I have a feeling that's why we've had weird graphics glitches, as well as the wonderful lag we had. My suspicion was that they were trying a new method of managing memory that failed... They either fixed it, or reverted to what they had before. I think they fixed it, mostly, which is why I get very occasional lag and we've been getting more glitching graphics.

Look at Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, and the way it loads. If you scroll quickly, it'll have little dots where an item should be. It loads in quickly and populates its space. It's the same as TSTO loading glitched graphics, because it wasn't designed from the ground up to support this style loading, and has to be reprogrammed to do this.

So I say hang in there. I feel strongly that they are working on it.
  • I'm sure the devs are working on the land issue. I highly doubt it will happen on the 4th, but maybe for the next major update. Only time will tell.
