The problem there is you have to tap away all the money before you can get a new task screen. Even though it causes me to miss a few characters sometimes, I prefer to let the money collect itself
I like letting the money collect itself 'cus there's nothing like tappnig a bunch of completed tasks and seeing lots and lots of cash :D But for me the most efficient way of doing it is the way sherry & I play. I think you would spend roughly the same amount of time collecting the money yourself and setting the new tasks straight away. Finding characters that aren't working on a task can be time consuming.
Having said that, each to their own, which is the great thing about this game.
After I've finished with the task bar characters, I've been clearing out and reassigning tasks in batches of three or four. You can wait for the cash to clear and still find the characters pretty easily.
