The incentive (if you can call it that) is that fewer and fewer buildings that pay out are given away for free or earned on a prize track anymore (just look at this event's free building to donut building ratio). The further along in the game you get the more lopsided it becomes. Eventually, if you wish to continue the town-building aspect of the game in earnest, premium buildings will become your primary avenue of addition. So really, no incentive is necessary because sooner or later it will be all there is."4kidsandacatdog;d-161704" wrote:
I don't know how many others have the same attitude about them as I do, but as much as I am temped to buy them and complete my magic campus, I feel that they are not worth the donuts. They pay IGC (albeit at a premium rate) the same as so many other buildings I have gotten for "free" and buildings that come with characters. They don't come with anything really exclusively "premium" like a bonus percentage or anything like that.
If EA offered more of an incentive, like, say, the premium stand alone building drops a donut after a specified time period (a day, three days, a week), would you be more inclined to make the purchase?
Two different opinions, yet neither conflicting each other, that is true discussion.
Simple.
It's not targeted for you, honestly if they added something as simple as a % bonus 0.5-1% I'd be inclined to purchase. Much like the wailing wall, double use is an inviting concept.
However as it stands, the current buildings offered (non-event generating) offered for donuts, are targeted towards new players.
It's been discussed at length, and when you think about it, low construction time, premium pay, etc. To us those that generate millions a day a couple hundred is nothing, to one who generates a couple thousand, a couple hundred will help towards buying the next character.
Then we have collectors, and completionists, they though may start dying off unless item restrictions are raised, why purchase an item when you can't even place it?
Finally you have RP, role-play, you won't find them too often, but you will notice some people go for a theme or certain look, these items, these buildings do come in handy. However in the end, the target audience is those who want to buy, an experienced Shopper is more discerning.
I wouldn't blame EA as much as question their tastes, at some point it becomes a question as to why cater to Tazerface fans when Baby Groot is where it's at? (These buildings are way lame)
I guess maybe the final part of your post could be my issue with it. I'm just not thrilled enough with the premium buildings as they are to want to shell out the premium currency for them. I can't say that I don't appreciate the fact that the main buildings are the ones from the prize track or the free ones that introduce the event but if you're offering buildings as premiums there should be something more to it.
LOL Tazerface...
