I apologize to those whom I offended with my "neighbor alert" thread. I was trying to be courteous to my neighbors. If we could delete threads ourselves, it would be helpful to take these down once their purpose has been achieved.
Gee. Same here. I'm glad I was out of town and missed the angry thread. I appreciate it when my neighbors let me know they'll be gone, and I returned the courtesy. I'm lucky enough to have neighbors that visit a lot, and my town did fill with handshakes while I was absent. Sorry!
You didn't do anything wrong - please don't apologize for trying to be courteous.
EDIT: I honestly think that if you take away the ability of neighbours to communicate with one another about their games in the GD part of the forum then this place will lose what makes it special. I'm afraid that if the ability to post a heads up to neighbours disappear, then the next thing that will be complained about is neighbours discussing or complimenting their neighbours games in threads as well. If we lose that then what so many love about this place is gone.
I realize that there are differing perspectives on this and I'm not saying mine is the right one. But I do know many others who love being able to freely communicate about their games with one another here.
If we could have an in game messaging system of some sort that would be great (I agree that the messages should be preset to avoid possible situations of harassment), but seeing as there are several known glitches that have not been fixed I just can't see the devs making it a priority at this point in time. It would be great, though - that way even non forum neighbours would know what is up with you if you are away.
(autocorrect is really having fun with me today - I apologize for any spelling mistakes I missed).
