Accidentally made Homer clean up debris in KL..

I have gone in and out of the game since I put Homer on the task. The only way exiting the game could have worked is if I did it immediately. I tried uninstalling and installing the game. Got a message saying my prev device didn't save the game. Crossed my fingers and chose the red continue button. Homer still cleaning up :-/ well well.. Good bye bumper car :-( EA really needs to include a "cancel task"-option.
