I think everyone should see this as a heads up. - The law requires them to request ages. Oh well it's not the end of the world.
However in a way they could use it as a marketing tool. They could gather stats on the general percentage of age groups and target a certain group to increase players or they could check their stats and decide what to include to the game to keep the higher percentage happy while playing. Just my idea :) to make an annoying thing semi-helpful. - I wonder what is going to happen with younger players games. :? I hope this all works out for everyone.
- I sure hope there is never an age check against Origin. Every time I have ever had to enter age, DOB, or any other intrusive information online I have always made something up. This is also why I have five or six email addresses, as long as I am over 21 it is none of their business what my exact age or DOB is and I won't give them more accurate information to fill up their database...
- God, some of you are such whiners. It's not a big deal and many sites/games already verify age. No one will lose their towns and nothing will change. It's a simple legality, so it's not a big deal. Move on.
