Allotted zoo land area

I have huge swaths of open land in my town. I can't fathom how there are still cries for more land.
You can't fathom it? Well make a few neighbors that have been playing since day 1 and you'll see their towns filled with so much stuff they can't add more. I've hit the max limit several times. It's annoying.
But if you don't actually design a town to be realistic, (which not everyone does) you may never fathom it. Some people just lay out one of each thing like they're collecting thimbles or spoons. I decorate heavily.
