I don't know who she is but, I think she's wearing pink pyjamas and may be traveling through the mountains as well???
So you saw this in a Neighbor's Town?
She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes
She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes
She'll be comin' round the mountain
She'll be comin' round the mountain
She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes
And yes, that IS what it means. It's a dirty ditty from days long done.
I have no idea where this "dirty ditty idea" or "Seeing it in a neighbour's town" come from.
We use to sing it in Primary School, (ages 5 to 11), singing class, the British version has her wearing pink pyjamas, the American version is completely different including some "Yee-haws" I understand.
And it is still available as a children's singing book.
I read that the "She" was really a chariot coming to take people away to safety apparently.
I think the idea of singing was to teach confidence? I don't know?
Though the song teaches irresponsibility, I mean what was she doing walking through the mountains wearing pink pyjamas?
Wear proper clothing, if the weather closes in Mountain Rescue will be called out to save her, and I bet she isn't wearing the correct footwear either???
Going up a mountain in bunny slippers, did she bother to tell anyone where she's going as well???
