In this thread: kids who don't understand what gambling is. :(
Mystery boxes are gambling. You have a chance of winning an expensive, cool premium item that you didn't earn! You also have a chance of getting something really mediocre. You have 0% chance of not getting anything, though, so it isn't really "rigged" in the way that, say, a slot machine is. With those you put in real money and most of the time get nothing back at all!
I bought a couple mystery boxes when I first started, but am not much on gambling, and would rather pay a little more for an immediate, guaranteed thing. I do not have a volcano lair, and probably won't get it unless they have a sale (canonically it isn't in Springfield anyway).
You don't have to own every item possible in a game for it to be a fun game, you guys. :)
