Glad I read this thread since you're one of my neighbors. I was doing the opposite. I built 7 additional Brown houses just for neighbor tapping but was just letting them sit there with the handshake...

Well I think I figured it out. You can double tap buildings, but they are on a timer. And the timer is based on the timer of the unique building. So you can double tap a brown house once every five mins. But you can only double tap a blue house once every eight hours....I think. This is based on me tapping the brown house and the truffle, then going back five mins later and being able to tap the brown house again, but not the truffle. Either way I'm an idiot for starting this thread.
