I'm currently farming Kwik-E-Marts to level up/get donuts quicker but I see that there are many alternatives. What, if any would you use, for this strategy and why? Best $/XP ratio? Build time? ...

Not as much as you think. I searched the first few Off Topic and FAQ pages and didn't see one and also did a word specific search.
I wouldn't call it sensitive more than just one of many stratagies such as freemium / premium. There are no glitches or exploits involved (EA introduced the XP collider themselves.)
