After playing the game for a long time I decided to start KEM farming. My bonus is almost 400% and I'm farming with about 128 KEMs (16×8). I am using the XP collider. I read about KEM farming online and some say they recommend buying the mystery box with donuts acquired and pay for 10 days of xp colliding. What do you recommend doing with the donuts? I'm thinking of using the yearbook to get the Springfield Sign.
10 day xp collider is the cheaper option. If you get your bonus % high enough the donuts will come easier and then you can easily buy everything in the Yearbook.
the news van and the billboard increase bonus, the lard lads earn cash so helps. Once the uniques are out of the box it follows a pattern. The % boost per donut spent is the second best in the game after Beach Hideaways (and upgrading them all the way) and getting the buildings in Springfield Heights. https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/149536/kwik-e-mart-also-known-as-kem-farming-guide/p1

Bonus xp went from a bit below 400% to 578%.
KEM farming works well but I used up most of my cash. How much cash do you guys usually accumulate before you start KEM farming?
You may want to consider many of us here have been playing for around ten years. So It wasn't quite the same for each of us as we were figuring it out on the fly. Many started with house farms first. I never house farmed and didn't start kem farming until my bonus was pretty high. Farming was considered controversial back then because we didn't know if it was unjustified exploitation. Then the game itself acknowledged and laughed at itself (and us) regarding farming, and has repeatedly ever since.
Once they introduced the treasure boxes of old things, for donut purchase, i took it more seriously. And then i increased my bonus to over 4000%. I'm actually decreasing it now to keep up with the item limit. I've stored like 900% in burning bushes to fit new radars release prizes. But my town is effectively 99% finished.
I find just setting the town on 24hr tasks and using the Skyfinger collection once a day, if they are 12hrs apart, collects the most efficiently, enough daily resources to cover all new event premiums, and increase total pink sprinklies slowly over time to offset impatience of task acceleration spending.
You are hustling to increase the rate quite fast. This is a long haul game, and at the end of the line, i can tell you it's the journey that's way more fun than being at the end, hoping they "lay more track". So don't rush too much. Have fun building your town.
Congratulations on reaching level 939 ! The trick to KEM farming is to farm just the amount you can afford. Example; if you can farm 48 kems at a time and your cash stays about the same each day then you have found the sweet spot. Things like a house farm can help you get more cash.

I like that line: "This is a long haul game, and at the end of the line, I can tell you it's the journey that's way more fun than being at the end," it could be a good philosophy for life itself lol
I have three towns. The first town was probably 99 percent complete until a dead email made my town inaccessible.
My second town is a premium town where I have acquired all yearbook items, all land, and 110,000+ donuts. I still take advantage of characters coming back as donut purchases, but I don’t spend as much time in that town.
My third town is my freemium town, which has become my primary town. Although I haven’t spent a dime on it, I have collected all friend prizes and reached level 939. I find this one to be the most fun because of the process, even though my bonus percentage is 364.5. KEM farming was impractical before completing level 60, as there was great demand for limited in-game cash. I started farming after level 100 with a bonus of about 180 percent. I always looked forward to earning enough donuts to recharge the XP collider and purchase an item from the yearbook box. Now, I alternate between building 24 KEMs (most cost effective) and 54 KEMs (can sell back in one selection box) and maintain the same cash balance.

That boosted me over 1000% and haven’t had to worry about donuts since then. Last thing, each event I focused on decorations that were relatively cheap and small but gave a decent increase to %. I remember buying a lot of spooky walls and who knows, we might see another Wailing Wall glitch.
I was fortunate to exploit the wailing wall glitch and the tennis court glitch. I have many of both. Some are plainly visible like my mall and DIY freight depot. But there’s dozens hidden all over town. Same for the tennis courts.
But, I found that buying nukes and jet bikes from the Vault are where I built most of my bonus, which is now over 4k%. So glitches aren’t necessary to build a bigger multiplier.
