The KL currency is kinda only valuable for buying KL things that you'd like to use in your town, like trees for example. You don't have to buy any trees with cash now, you can use KL money. Or pink fences. When i redid my KL, i needed to buy a lot of pink fence.
But another thing i did with the KL money, was SAVE IT. So, when that recent sale with the yearbook came up, i was grinding for donuts so much that i actually spent all my in game cash. Like $40 million! So i was very glad to be able to cash in KL tix at that point and still have some spending money. Now this was at the point i didn't know the yearbook was permanent. So not a very large deal in hindsight, but at the time i was very relieved to have that backup source of funds.
So i just keep collecting and saving. We never know when EA will give us something new. Could be this Tuesday. Have we had a mother's day event yet? Maybe this year...
