Does this display real world time and if so what format? Military time?

A very minor nitpick that I bring up only because it’s been discussed before: the display is 24-hour time, which is not quite the same thing as military time.
24hr time 0000-2359 is military time, you might be confusing Zulu time (which is also used by the military- to be used by all branches around the world as "the time" instead of the local time zone your stationed at) with 24hr time. Now why the : is used? Coding, lazy, easy, etc.......
My only real point was that while military time is based on a 24-hour clock, when it’s written out it doesn’t use a colon (as does Digi-Ben). Shoulda been more clear in my OP.
