Can a lesson be learned here? A simple poll...

Patience pays off, I always say.
When there's a long pause between events, people get impatient and bored.
I admit to that, as well, but the longer you play TSTO, the more you will realize it's worth the wait. Those who lose patience and leave don't know what their missing. Their loss.
This event is the best yet, in my opinion.
  • So far, very happy to see the poll is 2:1 in favor of a more optimistic and patient attitude. Yay!

Attitudes are contagious, and I know which I prefer to catch
  • Hate the way EA tightly controls the game and makes of us similar to frantic gerbils working their wheel. The devs must be Laughlin very hard at us.

The division of the event in four sections and having to finish one before going forward to the next is asinine, more than one third of my neighbors aren't yet on the second issue. And then the delightful "crafting" of items from random drops of four different items (mystery boxes? Wheel within wheel!)
Not being able to buy any new item but the brown house or premium.

Don't like any of the prizes in section 3, but some of the probable ones in issue 4. So either quit or pay up in "labour" or $ - its no longer fun .

A game, in my opinion is a relaxed time away from RL, a rat race game defeats the purpose. Very disappointed!

I agree with this. I'm loving this event, but I really wish they'd get over the phased event structure. If people rush through the event and complain that it's done, it's their own damn fault. I'd rather have a constant questline that carries me through the whole event. Side-quests for the prizes and such are good, but the "get a prize, do 1 quest, wait 2-3 days to unlock next prize (and 1 more quest)" is less than ideal. Especially when there's nothing else going on in the meantime other than tapping criminals in rainbow afros.

Still, much better than other recent events, so I don't want to complain too much.
  • Great topic OP. I completely agree on all points, this is shaping up to be the one of the best events yet.

I'll hop in this boat as well. I agree with OP that EA deserves props for a good event - especially the great game mechanics and minimal connection problems.

What I don't like is just how much TSTO events are being modeled after FG:TQFS events. From the comicon event with the surprisingly similar HQ building, multi-phase events, crafting, etc, etc, etc, I think EA is cheapening TSTO by taking this approach.

Don't get me wrong - I think EA did a great job on this event. But in my mind I still think Stonecutters and WD were better overall events, partly because they are iconic in Simpsons lore. I hope EA moves away from the FG model and gets back to the roots for TSTO events.
