There's 2 versions of the job - one that uses the Whitewashed Fence and one that animates in a temporary "pretend fence" - so whatever you have for that fence in your town do the opposite ...

... then head to the Friends Towns section and back to re-sync the game and that will give you the other version of the task to go at.
( I'm hoping they tweak the Princess Opal task to work the same as this - fingers crossed )
