It might be easy if the game did not crash every time I try to attack another person. I I tap on the random encounter button, CRASH. I tap on the REVENGE button, CRASH. I go in and out of the game for about 20 minutes before I just give up.

I had the same problem and was ready to file an EA ticket when I finally realized I hadn't completely shut down my iPad in nearly a week. Once I shut down and restarted, the game stopped crashing (except when I log out and then log in, but that's a small annoyance).

I am finding the random Springfields a refreshing change from the 24-hour neighbor limit. No scramble to find good playing neighbors plus I invade when I want to without that 24-creep in visit timing.

Its because you need to refresh the memory (RAM). Shutting down wipes the RAM clean. Just force closing apps by double clicking the home button won't clear all the RAM.

And on my device rebooting starts up all the bloatware. So I have to give it some time for those things to do whatever they want first, and then I start TSTO. On the version of android I have, it is suppose to then be smart enough with memory management to remove those apps to free memory as needed. Sometimes I go into the memory manager and push the button to clear memory. But that would not work if the apps had not finished what they wanted to do, because they would just start up again.

I must be doing something wrong, I only get like a few hundred gold a day. I just got the towers and my town is not getting raided. I read the trick of sending out nerds, but when I come back in 12-24 hours later, I am greeted with a few hundred gold, not a thousand. I know I have a month to get 10k+ in gold, but not sure how I keep getting passed up by everyone. Nor am I really seeing my buildings attacked.

If you're open to it, try this for one evening. Use only one device for this (I use my iPad). Make sure it stays logged into the same town over the entire time (19+ hours).

Open your game at 7pm. Now, let's say you generate 60 nerds every 2 hours and have a max capacity of 85 nerds. Hit the random button repeatedly until you see a town that looks like it is being ravaged. Give 1 nerd to each building. Then, hit the random button and keep doing this until you get your nerd balance to 25 (which is 85 minus 60--this lets you fill up to max at your next check-in 2 hours later). Avoid wasting your nerds on castles or towns that aren't being ravaged. When you've gotten your nerd balance to 25, hit the neighbor button to sync rather than going back to your SF. In the neighbor screen, hit the device's home button. Wait a few seconds, then force close the app. (likely unnecessary, but I do it every time and it works.)

Now, check in again at 9pm. Collect from your castles. This will fill you up to your max capacity of 85. Sync, then exit, then force close.

Finally, check in at 1050pm. Hit the random button and attack only castles that you can defeat in 15h or less with one nerd. If a town has 3 such castles free, attack all three of them with 1 nerd each. Keep going until your nerd balance is down to 25. Then, return to your SF, collect from your castles to fill up to max, then hit the random button again. Continue to attack only <15h random castles until you are down to 0 nerds. Then, hit the neighbor button rather than going back to your SF. Then, hit the device's home button, wait a few seconds, and force close the app. If you can, turn off your device so you don't accidentally check in again later.

Don't open the game again until you are sure 15 hours have passed. e.g., 2:30 pm the next afternoon.

The glitch works by turning any loss that the game doesn't notify you about into a win after the attack time has passed. The 145 castles you attack on the final run are going to comprise the majority of your earnings when you check in the next day--easily at least 18k elixir, depending on how many losses you get notified about when you cycle back to your SF at 11p to refill. The 7pm run is just gravy -- easy wins that you'll get to keep if the owners of those towns don't check in during the 7p-11p period. Should net at least another 3k on top but can easily be cut out if you'd rather only check in twice at the end.

Try it and tell us how you do. I bet you'll be surprised.
  • How are you guys getting all this gold?

I literally play about 8 times a day, I send my nerds out everytime I collect them for max attack and only have 14000 gold
  • Honestly I don't know why people are complaining the event was too easy. I'd rather an event that's too easy then too hard. I don't know about everyone else but I don't want to be glued to the game 15 times a day. Whacking day was enough for me as far as hard goes.

This event was suppose to be hard, thankfully a helpful glitch was found early on. If it wasn't for that most of us would be way behind. How do I know this? Simple. I just look at neighbors who aren't forum members and don't know about this glitch. They are either barely keeping up or a bit behind.

Bottom line is, don't make a big fuss about easy, because I guarantee you won't be happy with a hard event. At least with an easy event you don't have to worry about quitting the game over frustration. It has happened before so just something to think about.

Other than the initial costumes and castles, the prizes for this event are pretty weak IMO.
