I'm pretty much in the same boat, i range from anywhere between 2-4000, i have once managed to get 5500 elixir but by chance more than anything really. I have used donuts to get all the walls i need but as for my freemium town well that town aint getting any of the walls needed to finish it off :(
I hope you been reading my strategy posts. But then maybe the glitch does not work for you. I've posted several times a test people can do to find out if the glitch works for them. It involves using multiple accounts; which you have.
