Convert cash to donuts?

Buy weather stations, sell back, gain XP, level up, win donut, pay because you only won 1 donut and you want 3.

You are probably thinking of converting XP into donuts. Once you have reached the max lvl, you gain a chance to win 1-3 donuts everytime you fill up the XP bar.

Is that really worth the effort?

Never been bothered to try, in my opinion no its not worth the effort.

It was much quicker to do by buying Santas little helper balloons, but you cant sell them back. Now that my next level up is at like 896000 XP im not bothering until Christmas

It used to be worth it. From whacking day to Halloween 2013, the XP meter was LOCKED. Meaning if it was at 200k, it stayed that way for EVERY level. Back then it WAS worth it. Now during Halloween and post-Halloween, it's been unlocked, meaning it will increase the XP required for each level. It's worth if you want a few donuts, but you can't farm them out anymore since it keeps going up. Note that the XP was UNLOCKED during Whacking Day, but was previously locked before Whacking Day, and locked after it ended.

What it really boils down to, is your time worth FREE donuts? The higher multiplier you have, the easier and faster it is. I did it for a while, but now it's not worth it.

I buy my donuts with real life cash....... I reckon its cheaper than giving myself an ulcer by trying to remember everything associated with trying to beat the system :D
