- I like the fact that premium characters have some use. Maybe they should have put some regular characters skins in first, but it's better than Family Guy where old premium characters just wander alone in the streets of eternity.
- OP, do they have your contact information? It's possible they knew the event should be completely tailored to how you want it to be, but didn't know how to get ahold of you.
- Overall I'm enjoying this event.
My "take" on this topic is that there are too few characters involved in tap ball as it is now. The superheroes event included pretty much ALL characters (to earn event currency etc) and I honedtly prefer that model. Restricting the event to just a few makes it less fun imho.
People who have played longer and/or spent donuts obviously have (ad should have) an advantage, that's fine.
That said, I think the mechanics of the event, including aforementioned premium advantage, would still work (and be more fun) if ALL characters were included. Neglecterino wrote:
It is nothing like a prize wheel. If you want the premium character, pay for it. If you don't then you have a free skin if you want it later. With the prize wheel, even if you want it, you can pay and not get it.
I'm enjoying the event in both my towns. In my A-town I bought the characters I didn't have if I wanted them. My B-Town is totally freemium.
Exactly. I'm a very low value premium player, so there's plenty of premium characters I don't have. Now that I've got two skins for Jasper (Stonecutters and baseball), it's more of an incentive to get him. He was close to the top of my list of characters to get anyway, and this is just a bit more of a push. And I'm sure this is part of EA's rationale for offering skins as prizes, but I'm not bothered by that. On the other hand, skin or no skin, it'll be a long time before I get Drederick Tatum. He's expensive, and I don't care for him all that much anyway.Neglecterino wrote:

You say that now, but I'm sure by the end of the event you'll have all the prizes and it won't even matter. Whenever Premium characters/items play a role in an event, they don't help that much. Premium players will get some of the prizes faster, but it will all even out by the end.
This... If people who pay can get stuff faster, what will it matter?
Yep, this too. Ever since and including Stonecutters, I've won all the main prizes and more than one of everything else that can be had without donuts. And that is in my freemium town. I've also gotten free donuts in my freemium town; mostly from the bonus donuts. I've had to work at it because it is a grind to get everything without using lots of donuts. But playing every 4 hours for 12 hours seems to be more than sufficient.
ditto... freemium player here that's been around since the whacking day event... of all the prizes/giveaways, there's only a handful of items I wasn't able to get (some because that lovely prize wheel would never stop on the items; and others because I was on vacation and couldn't log in regularly to keep up).
for this event, if you can manage to check in every 4 hours to get in a tap ball game/clear some roaming fans, you should have plenty of time to get everything, even without any premium characters. It might take you up to the last day to get everything, but it's a marathon, not a sprint.- Hi all. I am not sure what has prompted me to reply ... I usually just sit back with my mouth shut.
AND considering the condescending belittling tone some have been giving the OP I should probably continue to keep mouth shut. But here goes
The OP is not griping about the lack of free prizes. He is saying it is unfair that EA has made a prize, something EA has promised if you reach a set amount you get, he has tapped for it and looked forwards to getting it, yet when he gets to the set amount is then told you can have it as soon as you pay me. Not fair! wildminion wrote:

I agree - more characters should be involved like how they did it during last year's Valentines event. I loved how lots of characters had V-Day cards.
That being said, I currently prefer my small team of 4 characters. Easier to level up.- Agree with the OP. This event seems to be pushing players to spend real $$$ more than any others. I'm mostly freemium. I don't buy boatloads of donuts but do buy scratchcards. I spend my donuts on premium items that I think will enhance my Springfield. I don't like the fact that none of the current events have anything in the store to buy with in-game $$$.
I always thought there was a good balance between items that cost real money and those that use in-game cash. I look at decorations I've got at past events and they give me a good feeling. I'd have liked more flags - especially as they have an England flag and a Union Jack but I'm saving my donuts for building with characters. Please EA give us decorations for in game dollars again. shh_or_ty880 wrote:

Welcome to posting on the forum. Always glad to hear another opinion.
My point of view is that the skin is the prize. That you cannot use it until you have the character is not a surprise to most of us because that is the way it has been before. Example: The Stonecutter skins during that event. And I still have a few of those in my inventory.
Admittedly this event seems front-loaded with premiums. I think we'll see some freemium stuff coming later in the event.FeeJay1111 wrote:

This, totally. Lack of in-game cash decorations is disappointing.
