Did this happen with anyone else?
I'm pretty sure this is accurate and not a glitch. That's what happened with mine and I think I read in a thread that it resets to zero after each prize

each unlock cost is a fresh number, non-cumulative from the previous unlockable...
only the chip counter above your Level indicator is cumulative, it is the total chips you'd gathered thus far.
