Are you using a tablet/phone or a computer? I'm not sure how to do it on a tablet/phone because I don't' have the application.
For a computer (non-app)
After you have uploaded your photo and it gives you the code options.
In the upper right hand of the screen, directly below "Sign In" and Register, there is an "Edit Image" button in blue.
Once the "Edit Image" button has been clicked, it will bring up a screen to edit the picture.
In the top right corner of the image screen it will say something like 1250 x 1250 with a check mark box below that says Lock Proportions"
If you change the 1250 x 1250 to say 500 x 500, than it will be smaller.
