Any recent information on this? I had enough to make a circle last night. I put it together and it was fine for awhile but crashed about about 10 minutes. To be honest though, I'm not sure if it was the connected tracks issue or something else.
I have a feeling it's not the connected tracks--it's the squares that they're in. Try shifting everything over by a couple of squares and see what happens.
My guess is that if there is any track at all it might try to enter the code that moves the engine. This seems to be what happened in one of my towns, and then the engine graphics went wild, and then it froze. But it could just as well be coded as you say. Like if there is any track within x of the station, then try to move the engine.
Since moving all my track into inventory I've had no freezes. If I'm feeling lucky I might try putting the track far away from the station.
I think it is a complex problem that has been going on for more than a year that relates to the game analyzing locations on the map that have the potential for animations. It caused me huge problems when I was designing my KL, and causes some people with complex towns problems when they place bridges in their SF. But it seems to be most noticeable now with the track pieces.
As this problem is going to get worse for everyone, I think your solution is the easiest one. If the freezing doesn't go away, store everything. Tracks, Krustyburger pieces, even consider storing station pieces.
Thank you for the advice! To be honest, I'm not really sure it was even related to the tracks. I still have a loop but I've just taken out one of the tiny straight pieces so it doesn't complete. I've had maybe one or two "Can't Connect To Server" errors while in the game but not much else.
