The first event I ever did had the old system (Stonecutters) and it was so much easier. Life is complicated enough, I don't want to have to think too hard about this game too!
I'm pretty sure CoC had the old system as well, but then every major event since then has had the new crafting and Act system, right? I hate the Acts so much.

I so agree with you! I think the current system is EA's revenge for our refusal to accept the wheel and convert TSTO to a game of hazard.
