For all the belly aching, stop and think for a sec. The developers intentionally did this so that:
A.) People would visit all their friends
AND
B.) You will check your Springfield more often.
Also, a 10 gremlin cap prevents people from forming alliances and only visiting a handful of allies. This is a social game and they want you to be SOCIAL!
