- An 8 or 12 hour task would be nice. For now I just set it on the three hour task everytime I log on.
- Vote +1 for longer tasks.
It's been a long time since I went to a drive-in, but I recall whenever we went it was always a double-feature. That could be a 4hr task.
And I remember one drive-in would show movie A, then movie B, then A again (and you were welcome to stay for the late show encore). That's a 6hr task.
And it wouldn't be unheard of to have "marathon" -- Which could get you 8-12hr tasks.
You really couldn't expect to have anything longer, since you run out of darkness in most of the continental US, most of the year...
But even just having an 8hr task would make me happy (4 and 8 are my most used). - wadebearRetired HeroAgreed.
- Longer tasks don't even have to be movie themed. A 24 hour task could be closed for maintenance. 12 hour task could be reeling in the dough or some sort of odd off hours pun. 6 and 8 hour tasks could be movie trilogy puns. Which just leaves 16 hours and any sort of odd lengths like 10 hours that we see in a few task lists if so inclined to have them too. I think the existing tasks plus a 6, 8, 12, and 24 hour tasks would be good and have ideas that make sense.

I agree, though how many of the times on other tasks are realistic? Do people really go to church for 12 hours?
Still, I think movie marathins would be a great option.OrdinarilyBob wrote:

And if you were lucky, the speakers that you hung in your car window actually worked. :)Starman_thc wrote:
Longer tasks?? How about a flea market or swap meet (depending on your locale). If I remember correctly, when I was younger and drive-ins were on the way out, I believe that they would use the property for one of the above for the occasional weekend. Here in the Northeastern US, they are called flea markets. Out west they are swap meets. This would be good for a 24 hour or better yet...20 hour task.
Great idea! And if the driveIn appearance could switch to a swap meet parking lot (images of little stalls, etc).. Similar to Cletus' farm when I plant a crop. :)annettemarc wrote:

...you could have some of the characters shop there or sell items...so it would get more use than just paying $10 or $20 for the right to sell there- First - Great ideas about non-movie related tasks (Closed for Maintenance, Swap Meets, etc).

Oh! Those tin-y, squawk-y, static-y, speakers. Man, I never did like them. If you were unlucky, you'd have to drive to multiple spots to find a working set, if you were REALLY lucky, there was no car next to you and you could use TWO speakers (for double-the-crappy-mono-sound -- No Stereo... lol).
I remember when our local drive-in started broadcasting the sound over radio, so you could tune-in your car stereo for the audio. That had some interesting effects.... There was always a car or two that needed a jump after the movies because their battery died. And my buddy's house had a balcony that overlooked the drive-in. Occasionally sleepovers we'd watch free "silent movies", but when they went to radio, we got "talkies" - It was great! :) - Good call Starman_thc having a flea market type task that is say 12 or 16 hours would be perfect in addition to my other suggestions.

That depends is it a revival? Or a special event of some kind? I remember one special event at a church I used to attend went on for 8 hours.
