Making them sellable again would be a disaster. They used to do that and they had a confirmation box pop up, but those are very ineffective. EA would be stuck handling requests from people asking to restore accidentally sold items. They could create a section (a vault) where items can be placed so they won't show in the general inventory or the inventory categories. I don't see any reason to ever delete stuff because the inventory can never fill up.
