SpAnser did confirm finding the crops. But not everything he finds makes it's way into the game, right away at least.


But yeah, it's probably very sensible to question the veracity of that splash screen image. We shall see, I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember the Valentines or Christmas splash screen being leaked early...
