Huh? You mean if the task calls for you to collect from restaurants and stores? You don't have to click the donuts!! You just collect from the stores and restaurants and you earn the cash and XP. Once you've collected from the number of stores/restaurants the task requires, it's completed.
When you click on the donuts, it's to speed things up, just like every other thing in the game. I hope this helps. :)
