Mine regularly does this. I don't have any premium skins either.

Also when you have one hit left on m'nsther don't send all 4 kids. Send 1 or 2. I have done this a couple times and lost out on the candy apples for 3 of the 4 kids that I sent.

Well the 4 regular kids managed to beat M'nthster in the 2nd round. He needed 9 hits so that means at least 1 of the kids produced at least 3 hits. There are definitely variables at play here.

Sorry for the confusion and yeah there is definitely variables at play. My issue is I send 4 kids to fight with one hit left. Instead of the 4 kids producing 16 candy apples (4 candy apples per kid), I get just 4 candy apples as m'nsther flies away after that one hit. I end up losing the reward for sending the other 3 kids.

It seems that you need exactly ten hits, the rest mysteriously disappear. I've usually sent all four to fight him, even though I've only needed two hits for the second round, and ended up losing 12 candy apples. Last time I only had three fighting (I sent Lisa to top-up my Metal Plant in prep. of next weeks Monorail) and the boys only managed to get 5 hits.
Now I have all four again for round two and I'll see how that unfolds in a couple of hours.

I think what happened is that you got more than one hit on your first round but it didn't show it on the tentacle counter.

Happens to me as well.
I have tried 5 times now to defeat him, but only succeded 2. My M'nthster resets at 1 in the morning, s? to fit in 3 x 4 fights is hard during weekdays, with work and sleep and so on.
