Futurama cancelled again

Noooooooo I only just watched a new episode

Make tapped out version plz ea
  • If someone had asked me 10 years ago what were great animated shows to watch, I could have made a long list. Now with the cancellation of Futurama, I cant really think of many. I do still watch South park, but cant really remember the last time I had a good laugh from the show.

There actually is one animated show I still watch, Archer, it is very crude humor, but it can be quite funny if your not too sensitive.

Did the Cleveland Show get cancelled?

Only thing I know about Cleveland Show is that it follows the same formula as all of MacFarlane's shows and that it had to change the lyrics of its song because its was deemed racist.
    How was it racist?

As far as the same formula, I've jokingly referred to the shows as Family Guy, Republican Family Guy, and Black Family Guy.

I think Family Guy is pretty funny. The Cleveland Show I find watchable because I think Cleveland and Cleveland Jr are pretty funny. The rest of the show is pretty weak. I've tried watching American Dad a few time and just didn't really like it.

I remember arguing with my friend in high school about Simpsons vs South Park. This was in the first couple of years of South Park and, though I didn't know it at the time, the last couple good years of the Simpsons. Probably around 98-99.

I would argue that South Park was all Shock value and had no staying power and that the Simpsons had much better writing (which was true at the time). I lost that argument in the long run.

I would have been crushed at the time, but looking back I really wish they would have ended the Simpsons back then and put all their stock in Futurama to keep it going. The Simpsons is less than a shell of its former self.

South Park however is still funny as hell. But it's winding down now too. I'm pretty sure they just cut their yearly seasons in half. Family Guy is on its way out too. McFarlane has said it himself. It's a dark time for animated comedy.

South Park. Then Futurama. Then Family Guy quite a bit behind that. Then the Cleveland Show and American Dad quite a bit behind that. Then the Simpsons.

south park has been really bad for awhile now so don't understand putting them at one.

Imo the south park guys just don't even care anymore. It's a nice little pay check for them. Nothing more. South park has gotten so bad that I can't even recall a good episode from last season. I'm sure there were a couple because there is always at least 2 gems per season.

I like all the shows on the list and can sit and watch any of them. The only show I regret watching when it is over is south park. I always think they will turn it around and it ends up disappointing me. Still love Eric cartman :)

I guess that's your opinion. Everyone I know still finds South Park hilarious. They have a couple of misses a season, but that will happen when you write and produce each episode in six days. I'm still amazed at how well they do with that.

Most people jump to the conclusion that it's racism when in reality it's just satire

From what I vaguely (and I stress vaguely) remember the end lyrics where something along the lines of "Everyone will know my happy black guy face" and it got changed to "happy mustached face".

I saw nothing wrong with it and agree with you, people don't get satire.
  • Doesn't surprise me sadly. The best shows are always cancelled. I'm still bitter about arrested development.

Arrested Development is coming back, new episodes are coming to Netflix soon and apparently there is a movie being made.

  • Futurama is my absolute favourite cartoon. I was quite sad about this news when I heard it this morning. It lasted 7.5 season though which is quite respectable for a niche cartoon. I cant wait for the s7b to air in June.

Also apparently the creators are looking around for another station to pick up futurama but they state for fans not to get their hopes up.
  • No no no! :'( worst news I've heard all week. is the second half going to be released? I've been waiting forever!

Cleveland Show that high? Really? I've found the show totally unwatchable.
That high? It's at pretty much at the bottom of the list. I can't even get through a full episode of American Dad or the Simpsons anymore.

I admittedly haven't watched american dad in awhile, and it was always pretty inconsistent, but at least it could be really funny, and though the Simpsons is pretty mediocre now, the Cleveland show deeply bothers me. Its a less funny Family Guy, and Family Guy is less funny than it was during its first run.
