Secondly, EA gave plenty of warning. With a game like this you need to check Facebook pages/forums for latest info, if you cannot be bothered then dont play the game! Simple.
Thirdly EA owe you nothing. You choose to spend your own money on the game and that is entirely your choice especially being fully aware of the ridiculous antics EA is renowned for. You cannot invest in shares and when the company goes belly up, blame the company, it doesn't work like that. No one is to blame but yourself.
Sorry but I'm very tired of seeing these topics now. Give it a rest. You lost out. It's not real. Move on.
Nope, not optional. I could not open the game and get into gameplay without letting the update process. Maybe on your nintendo DS it is different. On my iTumor there was no "option".
