You should go ahead and craft it, I think. There are still another couple days before Act 3 starts. So you'll have some more time to earn DNA. Plus you'll have to earn more of the other items before you can upgrade anyway. You only need a few hundred DNA each time for the first few upgrades, and 3500 total.
