Giving up on friend visits.

For me I find that if there are no pagans near the henge, I go to the opposite side/corner and usually there they are. If I have a hard time finding them, I check to see when they last played. Usually few pagans equals recent activity.

Having the same problems. I do go straight to original roads, they are more likely to be there it seems. I miss that I'm not doing anything for my friends and worse, when my friends tap my buildings it's like a lot of "hey there's " from friends-now it's nothing :( so none of us see each other popping in and leaving notes behind.
I remember last years xmas presents-super annoying-so many friends that didn't clear pkgs like @mystery2mi said, they couldn't find em.
I had forgotten about the prospectors! They were fun to throw at friends (at that time, pre-forum, I had 4 friends + "other Springfield" lol didn't even know there was a leader board for it then. Sure I was on top though, I was one of 2 that were active and he didn't even know about the prospectors till near the end.
I really wish it was more social in game, not everyone does forum, how else can I say hi or tap in town areas I think are cool.
OH!! We should be able to drop fruit cakes at friends towns!!!! That would be awesome, can't eat em, so drop em! No one can say THATS not Xmasy :)

I just had a flashback to that event. Was that the one that displayed the gift dropper's username in white text so it was often hard to read who left a gift (as the name floated up over white snow)? That was annoying. A pentagram isn't.

Yes, it was, you'd have to be zoomed in to catch a glimpse of the (quickly disappearing) name!

I wish they would quit being wishy washy with the friend mechanics from event to event, or even the inclusion of them. The best to me has been when they have a menu that shows the give and take with friends names, 2nd best is the username showing on clearing. Like with the Grem-aliens and, I think, the first Superheros battles for example. Biggest fault with the "dropping stuff" events IMHO is the too low limit per town so they fill up quickly and have no room for you to leave anything. Leads to repeat visits to hit everyone.
