Golden token
Black Friday 2019 Pt. 1 Spend a golden token on a golden mystery box. If you tap on do it. The only option is spend a token and get dozen donuts. Can’t complete task any suggestions?

I do believe that you are correct, I'm fairly sure that I read that any tokens you have left after the current event reaches it's final date will disappear with the end of the event so it would be wise to spend them on something in the gold box of get that box of a dozen donuts should you have no gold box available as you already have all the items in it.
