I have some 3D designs in my town and still am able to fit everything that I want out and I still have some land to buy.
(My neighborhood is rather simple and straightforward, a lot like the one I grew up in. I can't help but think that those 3D designs, as impressive as they can be, use up a TON of land space.)
Modesty, thy name is barszap785 :P
In response to the original topic, yes, I have all the land available. In two towns. And both are filled to the brim with awesome designs!- I only buy the land when I need it. Probably a hangover from early days when I couldn't afford it! I like shuffling things around when I get a new building and just working on a square by square basis. My town designs aren't sparse, but compact in comparison to some of the incredible sprawling scenes some friends have.

I only have a few left to buy. I have a safety net of money that I try not to go under until a new level is released, then I rebuild up to that level. Once I'm back at that level I save up again for land. It's slow but I'm not in a rush. I still have space.
Ditto. I have 1.9m worth of land left to get (5 parcels) and had 2.3m saved when the Level 54 hit, which cost me 1.7m in total. If I had bought the rest of the land when I was at 2.3m, I'd have not been able to buy squat with the new level. As it is I'm back to 1m and will save until I can maintain a 2m reserve. - 74handsNew Spectator

Even though I've been playing for more than a year, I think I still have a ways to go before I run out of land. I'm at the point where the price for each section ranges from $60K to $100K.
Just wait until you get to the plots priced at 1.5m :-o - Don't the prices of available land sometimes drop with an update? Or am I just imagining that? I think I have one more strip available to buy, and with almost $37 million in the bank the cost isn't an issue. I'll buy it when I need it.
- I only have a few pieces missing...a few that would just be empty water, and a few that will just be forrest
so no rush for now....but i NEED land in other areas - 74handsNew Spectator

The last time a strip was added, the prices of plots in the strip next to it halved, so what was a 1.5m plot dropped to 750k. Mind you, that's scant consolation when the new strip will set you back 13+m. :( 74hands wrote:

Ah, I thought so. In that case, I so no reason to buy all available land until it's needed. (In answer to the "If not, why?" part of the original question!) Unless, of course, a future update makes available land *more* expensive...- A) Don't have a need for it yet
B) Every time I start to accumulate money, EA releases a new level with a million dollar building and I have to start over. - I see the poll is very close  Only one vote in it at the moment of posting this
