Putting aside some open space (if you have it) for the new items? Arranging an area in your future section?So far I've moved my KEM farm to SH so I can more easily expand the other land. Nothing is really cleared though.

I have some land ready. Besides that haven't done much because I still have no real clue what the items will be. Will it be future junk or travel back in time type things.

I just finished gathering 4 million $ to prepare myself to buy new land from the upcoming event in order to move a chunk of buildings to expand that space that is not lined up correctly with my rest of the buildings and streets, to build the Industrial Area (Mr. Burns and other similar factories). I need at least one column (upper-side of the game) for factories and one new row (right-side of the game) to organize some army depot decorations from Rommelwood Academy. I do hope I will have enough decorations because I'm close to item limit.

Prepping for the event by earning as many bonuts as possible before it starts. Don't have any open land besides SH, so that's where the event landing zone will be. (Hoping for another row of land or 2 with the update)

How are you prepping for the event on Tuesday?

Generally events don't hit until after 9am in California and it's currently the middle of the night there. Depending where you are in the world then that might mean it works out as Wednesday for you.

i could swear loads of previous events start at midnight california. maybe i'm thinking of act changeovers and not events

All I know is that generally things seem to happen just as I'm ready to go to bed here in the UK, so anywhere between 8pm-12am BST (7-11pm GMT/UTC)..

It ends up I'm either just getting ready to drop off to sleep and I have to make sure I've got the event started or I'm waking in a morning, bleary eyed, trying to start it off in the rush to get ready for work...

I'm trying to finish the Rail Yard for the week so it will be out of the way once I need Homer, Lisa, Bart, Milhouse, etc to do event tasks.

Seems to be the case. I'm east coast US and things tend to hit after lunch time here, which would be roughly after dinner UK time. I recall one year the winter event hit around 6 pm my time. I never expect anything before noon here, at any rate.
