It doesn't validate your incorrect answer to a suitably worded statement.

The active verb in the title question, is GET. NOT DROP. DROP is within the prepositional phrase, "to drop ".

So either answer the person's question, " how do you get presents? " or don't.

But if you're going to be snarky, you really should be grammatically correct. Then you'll appear merely ignorant, and not plain stupid.

So if i ask a Question like this:

"How do you get a baby to sleep?"

You are saying i am asking on how to get a baby and not asking on how to put it to sleep?
