How is it fun?

Hoarders?
  • Maybe some of the towns were adopted. Parents taking care of it for the kids for a while, only to realise they're now stuck with it. :P And just in case the kid wants the town back one day (and they don't want to deal with an angry kid), they just buy whatever's available and plonk it all down.

That being said, I notice a lot of towns are designed like the player's RL town. Some places have river systems, others have dense malls and there are some with one property on each block of land.
  • I was actually thinking about this thread, and it comes up again. :)

Please don't think I'm insulting anyone, as I truly don't mean to be. I'm just curious, because it appears to be quite different than the game intends to be played, and I just want to understand something that confuses me. You are very welcome to play the way you want to, and I don't have a problem with that. If you're a good neighbor, then you're awesome regardless. :D

I have a new neighbour who has ( i kid you not) over 40 to 50 gas and grubs And Farmers Markets....Why???
Its all crammed togheter without roads or any order... I don't get it and actually hate looking at it

I mostly wonder about people with house farms that don't clear them. It puzzles me that they go to their town every day, clear other buildings, and leave their house farms untouched. Isn't having a house farm a reason to make more money? It's not wrong or anything, just confusing. :)
  • I actually get a kick out of my neighbors who have towns like that - I have a few active tapping neighbors with towns as you describe. I figure they look at my town and think I must be BORING! Lots of roads, neighborhoods, organized sections of stores (or at least that is my goal), no 3-D, and not much of the more unusual stuff.

I just figure their minds work differently than mine!

Yep i hear you, i have a little housefarm of blue house at the end of my plot en clear it daily (need it now for Burns)
But this neighbour also doesn't clear his SF it is crammed like a tetrisgame, no land left
I mean, if you could craft that many gas and grubs and farmermarkets you must have justed donuts right? why spend so many donuts on 50 of those high priced items? And why just put it out like its a junkyard? And then don't touch it?
Why why why? :?: i wanna know :P

  • I can see both sides of it and at least the game is flexible enough for you to create your own world. We all have fun in different ways.

I'm on the well structured side of things, but I also have a personal rule about not having multiple unique identical premium stuff that have percentage bonuses like jet bikes, knight boats, Duff party liners, stuff that would never be more than one of in SF.

I think you are talking about me. I do clear my buildings. The Farmer's Market regenerates every three hours, you probably just happened to enter my town when I was sleeping. I don't have unlimited money for land, so this is how it's going to look until I can earn enough income to buy up more land (I finally got enough money to start building the Slaughter House, and still have to build the level 53 building, too). And, no, I didn't spend any donuts crafting those buildings.

Also, I like tetris, and being able to fit in all income earning buildings, plus having enough decorations to still maintain a 5 star town is a challenge.

You've been a good neighbor to me. Personally, I like variety in my neighbors.
