How to find GOOD friends?

Trial and Error. I went from zero neighbours to 100 in the days leading up to the Halloween event, and by now I have deleted more than half the people I had added. I'd suggest you try the same (there are numerous add me threads on the 'Finding Friends'-board). I do discourage you from sending random request to forum regulars without sending a PM first, you're likely to get ignored if you do that.

Just to say I don't 'post' on this forum much but I visit a few times a day to get answers for any queries I have and sometimes have a laugh at quotes and answers :D There's some funny people on here! :lol:

If you really want new neighbours, you can add me. My Springfield isn't anything fancy like yours sounds, but I do my best to visit friends as often as I can and tap their tile/channel 6/farm.

+1 Always a good decision. Pm'ing forum regs and asking them is a good way to add a reliable friend. I usually keep my numbers below 100 just for just that reason. Plus I don't have time to visit 100 people. Before this gets moved to the add me section (and if it does, let me say I don't accept random invites), let me encourage you to do that. Oh, and I am pm'ing you something too. :D

BEING a forum regular doesn't hurt the ol' friends list, either :wink:

If I may suggest... a lot of the forum regulars will probably clear out their friends list a few days after the Christmas update hits. They'll see that people they suspected of being inactive haven't got the update and boom, they're gone to make way for currently active players in order to maximise festive revenue.

That's what I'm planning on doing, anyway.

I'm a great neighbor as long as I can get into your town... If its a farming town or super decorated my game tends to crash everytime I try to visit so I end up having to remove them after awhile which sucks :(

But I do have room for active daily players, so you can add me if you want, if there's an issue with my being able to visit your town, I'll PM you.
Otherwise I like to keep my neighbors regardless of an event.

I know how you feel. I had little friends before the Whacking Day event (and didn't really understand the importance of having friends before that time). I browsed "Add Me" threads and added people on my on. I found most people eventually died out. I cleaned house during the Halloween event and then after that was over noticed most were dead again. I cleaned house once again and added back up to 95 friends from a "Tile Tapping" thread. 60 of my friends were added directly from that thread.

I religiously visit all friends most evenings. In return I get 8-10 visits a day...most click the Simpsons and Brown houses. I get around 4 tile taps a day. I know many of these don't know about the tiles and so forth, but many I visit gat a tile tap from me, yet I receive nothing in return. I am ok with it because I have a couple of awesome friends who visit multiple times a day to click my tile (dawnbrookes and bellhopbunny, you know who you are!).

I guess what I am getting at is that regardless of how many times you clean out your friend's list, you will never be completely happy, or think it is fair. I have come to grips with this fact partly from reading posts from people saying, "Just be glad people visited...they didn't have to!". Although I think I am going to roll my list over during the Christmas event because I notice many of my taps in my friend's towns are resulting in my name floating up the page...I assume that means they have quit visiting and tapping their own town. :cry:

All of my original friends came from the Halloween "Add Me" thread and, not surprisingly, they fizzled out soon after adding. I've found a handful of great neighbors here on the forums, and have spend the last few weeks weeding out non-players and adding people from my neighbor request queue.

I have a list of probably 15-20 people that don't visit that I'll be deleting if they don't pick up when the Christmas update hits. Once that happens I'll probably again turn to the forums to find friends -- the success rate of PMd friends is much higher than randoms.
