How to use the Elf Bottler (with video)

Honestly, it just takes a bit of practice. Now that you have the 2nd tab in the top right of the screen with the Elf Bottler, there's no need to hit that again. Just go to an area in your town where you can practice without accidentally tapping a character or building, and just practice this: tap and hold. Try a light touch and different areas on the end of your finger (if needed). On my devices, they require me to tap straight down and close to the screen for better results. If I tap at an angle, the screen seems to slightly shift as I'm holding. When I am close and tap lightly straight down, the screen remains still and then you'll see the "lightning".

Hope this made sense.

I will try, I am on my main account, the clooless2000, been playing since game came out. I havent even gotten the bottler yet on my S4 hawaiianrn accout yet. I figured it might be a tricky, deal, or else another glitch. I have been trying different approaches all day, and nothing has worked.

I usually use a stylus, to prevent the proverbial finger oils from building up on my screens. I even stopped using the stylus!!!

I will work on your instructions, and hopefully that will get me going.

Even with a clean screen the bottler only works once every 5 - 6 trys for me.

I have used the this feature many times in previous events and always wondered why some people say it didn't work


Well I am upgrading to Tab 4 from Tab 1. Surprise it will not work on Tab 4 still works on Tab 1. So you may not be crazy trying to get it to work.

If you add a not working feature please mention the device and operating system. My Samsung Tab 4 says it Kit-Kat

I can say it works on Tab 2 and Samsung S4 phone.

UPDATE (not a spoiler):Wouldn't you know, I did get it to work but I did have to hold it a bit longer

(edit 2) and I noticed I had to start near the bottler icon.

Same here...not at all surprised, something else that's inconsistent on this game... also I noticed I have to tap the icon in the top right corner before it works, but that's not guaranteed to make it happen either.

Works about 1 in 20 timed for me, even with all the tips. We really need an alternative to these tap and hold events as they never work well. Couldn't just clicking the icon turn it on and off as well?

Barry - you are awesome for posting this video and helping everyone who are having trouble with the zapper.

I'm finding that this zapper is, for lack of a better word, inept. The previous zappers weren't perfect either, but this one seems like it is much harder to use (to get it working AND to catch the target/bottle the elf). I don't recall the bunny zapper being this difficult... Seemed it was way more responsive and actually caught the target on the first try. The elf zapper seems to miss the target a lot (at least in my case it does). I think Brevis mentioned this in another post, but it's almost as if you have to hit the elf with the zapper on a certain angle.

I agree. You can even see in the video where I was all over the first elf with the zapper and it was as if the little rascal was invincible, lol. Angle does seem to play a part with this tool and I can see how people may become annoyed using it. Previous zap tools were much easier. :D
