As we all know, Golden Eggs have now become available for purchase. I spent 100 donuts and bought 9100 golden eggs and I had 400 already so I had a total of 9500 eggs for 19 spins!! I must have already spun the golden box a dozen times so this would put me over 30 spins total for the event. I still need Bobbins and Father whats-his-face. Here is what I got for my 19 spins:
5 Gates - So awesome looking
6 Fences - The best fences around
3 250 Blue eggs - blue is my color so I would love more!
3 250 Pink eggs - sweeeeet, my rare egg
1 Blue Basket - again, blue is my color so the more the merrier!!!
1 Kang bush
It was so awesome and so much fun to spin the golden box and claim these amazing prizes for my inventory, my inventory will love to have them!
Serious note: I am a player that EA wants to have. I am premium, I play every day, I hype up this game to friends and family to get them to play, to this day I have gotten 3 friends and 1 family member to join (3 of which stopped playing due to this event). I check in every hour or 2 to clear handshakes for neighbors and tap bunnies for eggs. Plain and simple, I am the type of player that EA wants.
I have voiced my disapproval of this event is several previous posts but this one is different. After spinning the golden box last night, I am simply utterly disappointed at this game, I am not angry, fed up or frustrated anymore, just plain and simple disappointed. This game that I have enjoyed for a year now has been completely drained of all fun. It is pathetic that all the hard work and effort that all of us, not just me, have put into this event only to be ridiculed by being rewarded with a game of chance, it is as if our prize for our efforts is a game of Russian Roulette.
The Simpsons is something that I grew up with, I was 9 when it first came out in 1990 and I still watch the show today in my 30's. I started playing TSTO May 2013 and loved the game, there have been hiccups and bumps with the game in that time but all in all, I still loved and played the game. Now, thanks to the amazing people at EA, I do not honestly know how much time I have left with Tapped Out.
I know there will be people here who will tell me to stop whining or stop playing and so be it. People are entitled to their opinion. I just wanted to get that off my chest.
ps: I'm gonna go back and play "Simpsons: Hit and Run" on my Gamecube.
The first part of your post made me laugh! Let's just hope EA don't read that bit then stop lol! Can you imagine them going "wow, this guy thinks the prizes are great and he only got the ones we put in there to suck! We'll definitely do this again!"
But I totally agree with you, and I think everyone should moan to EA about this sucky event and try to convince them to go back to their old ways. Overload them with complaint emails and they might get the point!stainer4ever wrote:

100%, Been playing for 2+ years now, on the Virge of letting go the Hundreds of dollars I continuously justified by saying, " I love The Simpsons so why not." More frequently the game becomes a daunting task, the value of our money to doughnuts is the same but everything is more expensive, or much harder to obtain. The event was great for the buildings, as well as the characters, but remember Happy Holidays? All I am saying, is we need more longevity for 2400 doughnuts.durarararara wrote:
Bad move or not, it seems to be paying off for EA. TSTO daily revenue jumped up to $212K and #5 top grossing app!
I am happy that Simpsons Tapped Out is making revenue, otherwise we would never have any updates. But this event is something entirely different. It is just so flawed and if this is whats to come, people will leave, the revenue will stop, and the game will die.- This is when a game jumps the shark. When not even spending money can get you a decent prize. It's over. Shut it down. EA no longer cares about making the best game possible. They only want your money.

http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/471134/5kg4k1.jpg - I agree with the OP.
Very much in the same position, I don't consider myself a premium player since I don't spend what my top friends appear to spend but I am not a freemium player either. I pay for entertainment value and see this game as mostly entertaining and a way to waste time. So I will spend money.
These chance events really don't interest me. Mainly because the odds are so unfavorable and to even get the chance to collect enough eggs for the dismal odds....well, I don't see much value.
In the past I have been willing to spend donuts on events to speed up tasks in order to collect the event currency faster. I really hated the grind of whacking day but I thought it was a good mix for freemium and premium players. If you wanted to play for free you still could get the prizes but you simply could not miss a day of playing and collecting. If you wanted to pay you could jump ahead and get prizes.
The Easter event is different. Even paying, being premium, does not guarantee premium prizes. That makes little sense to me.
I do see some possible options, not that it would make everyone happy but:
You like the wheels or boxes of chance, you also have criminal characters. Why not have one of the criminals "fix" the wheel for you? Add an option where you pay Fat Tony 50 donuts and he removes all junk prizes.
Limit the wheels and boxes of chance. Create one at the end of the event when it is completed. If you complete the event you get one free spin. Put 10 prizes on the wheel. 1 awesome killer prize, 2 pretty cool prizes, 2 cool prizes, 3 ok prizes, 2 of your now infamous fences. All of the same chance. After the free spin. You can pay 50 donuts for another spin, after that spin you can pay 100 donuts. All prizes stay on the board.
That way you still get to earn for paying, you still have created a reason to pay, free players stiill have a reason to want to become paying players, paying players still have a reason to want to pay more. And perhaps more importantly you still keep competition.
Just my two cents. durarararara wrote:

I have been saying since the beginning do not buy eggs, but people buy more and more to get everything so guess what? Next event will be even worst simply because this one was a financial success... My prediction (and I really hope I am wrong) the wheels, boxes or whatever they next think of are here to stay simply because they made this event the most profitable.empathy77 wrote:

I just started buying donuts and I believe that I'm done. I used 150 donuts to buy golden eggs and pretty much got the exact same stuff as you. Only I got 3 Kang topiarys. I've got 9 donuts left and once I get one more from visiting my neighbors (when the game allows, as it crashes almost after every visit) I'll buy a basket and I'm done buying donuts. Back to freemium for me.finagenesse wrote:

Yep, sad but true. Almost everyone hates this event but a lot of people have still bought eggs (believing this means they'll win the better prizes) because in previous events, it has meant that.
Unfortunately for us, all EA sees is the statistics, not the constant complaints on the forums, so to them this event has probably been a big success :(zaletoon23 wrote:

Much nicer thing to buy with 150 donuts: Frink's lab with Frink, Krustylu Studios with SideShow Mel, Community Center with Jasper, Cracker Factory with LuAnn (that unlocks the Fleet a Pita) and all this GUARANTEE no spinning anything, just saying don't want to be mean or anything.
