I hate the Bonus Area

Not just in this event. I hate the whole idea of a bonus area. I do like that there's a mechanic where I can increase a payout. But I want to decorate my town with my new prizes, not shove them all into one area. My Springfield Heights section is all spooky stuff, but I can't spread anything out in the way I like. Not until this event is over.

I am not crazy about it either, but I just cram everything in there and design it when the event is over. What I absolutely hate is the land token thing. They give one land token at a time, and my town has one side completely blocked by land tokens -I can't expand there and there's no way to get more tokens so.... I am building and expanding my town in one direction only. Idk how many events I need to get all that land. Idk why they did this, it is annoying as hell. At least when I get the prize of a token, give me like 3 or 4, not one! This is killing me.

I agree. I appreciate the free squares of land they dropped for zoo/halloween, BUT why not allow the ability to switch spots? Maybe a feature to "store" land and get the token back in your inventory. So you can redesign all you want. People can make their springfield any shape they want, big or as little as they want. Just sayin!!

Absolutely! That would be great. When this event started, the game cleared an area for me (a couple of new land parcels opened) but in a spot where I would not have wanted to expand. I can't redo it or claim the tokens back and use them elsewhere. It is killing me that my town has a weird, out-of-proportion shape. I don't have OCD but I have my plans for my town, as I think all of us do. The game should just let us design the town as we want.

I also appreciate the free land parcels they gave us at the beginning of this event and the last one. I just wish that we had received the equivalent amount in free land tokens which we could place where we want to.
  • I dont like the bonus area either. Seems like a shot by EA at players who don't play much. I don't like being constrained to a area to continue quest progress. The most asinine was the I&S entrance. I think it is a annoying added "feature" if it can even be called that. What good is it. As I say... Was intended against the player rather than for with the bonus needing to be attatched for moderate players.
  • It doesn't bother me cramming stuff in and designing later... or not bothering at all with the bonus %.

Still, the bonus area doesn't make the events more fun or challenging... probably one of the most pointless features of the game imo.

You hit the nail right on the head. Basicly pointless. Ive always basicly piled everything up, then made it pretty after. It used to be a good system, back when we had more than ten seconds between events. Now, sometimes I end up with 2 or 3 events worth of stuff piled up before I get around to working it into my town. Price of progress, I suppose...
  • @Trion66 ....like 0Brooders0 said, ignore it and try to get most of the new premium characters that are part of the event currency. There is another way to speed up the process for the act prizes is by doing the donut rush if you take most of the new characters or not all. A lot of players do that way as if they just like to get it done out of the way and not take the time to do it. Its like they just want those prizes right a way. Just make sure you got a lot of donuts (if you got like up to 10000 donuts or more).

I'm not crazy about the use of the bonus area either. I had to do it in Bart Royale because I didn't want Ice Bishop and also those two boys.

Although, I didn't really have to use it much in the Springfield Jobs and the major events after that as I had bought all new characters (that were part of the event currency) and did some of the donut rush for the act prizes.

Thinking about not crafting much for the bonus as I'm not a fan of it but would take the new buildings or new character skins that may be in the crafting area for major events.

For this event.....it seems that the currency for each characters (part of the currency) doesn't increase as the bonus area increases (mine is up to about 37%) so maybe I'll take it easy on that in the 3rd act and focus on getting more pickaxes.

  • Everything just crammed in just like we had to do with the zoo, don't bother trying design or organise anything.

When the event is over I'll be able to redesign nicely but it kind of sucks until then.
  • I don't mind it too much. I'll cram in what I can to get to the percentage for the quest that pops up then I just let it go. Once the event is over if the items don't give a percentage payout I just store them. I only put stuff in my town that will increase my vanity, treehugging, etc..ratings, a multiplier on my XP and money or a building that pays rent, otherwise I try to just leave that stuff in inventory.
