It's stupid, but

I had the same thing - I started at the tail end of the winter event and thoroughly enjoyed the content. But when the tear-down occurred and the snow was removed, it was a "whoa!" moment!

(Many months later I found out that I missed out on the community prizes for that Christmas by like one day...)
