I like the part about the jokes not working. :lol:

They couldn't bother to translate the joke to something that works in the other languages? Yeah, that's not always easy, but isn't that part of a translators job? Somebody that does translating for a living, please back me up on this. Don't you have to translate idioms etc?

I found my native language in this new language option, but I'm not going to change it... I enjoy TSTO jokes in English... Lol :lol:

we've them in Italian but probably some jokes cant translate well in other language expecially complicated ones like Chinese, korean and russian probably

Weeell... Some are based on word-play, which isn't very easy to translate. And some are based on american phenomenon or products, and can't really be translated into anything that would make any sense.

But basically, I agree with you. I hate watching a television show or movie with a badly translated pun or joke, that really screws me up! And even worse is when the translation is just wrong (which happens more often than it should).

I've wanted to play in English for ages. The German translation is often abysmally bad.

I bet that was fascinating! When I was taking French, my French teacher said that the English "You are pulling my leg." should probably be translated as "You are putting me in a box." French speakers, was he pulling our leg. :lol:

My brother is still angry with me for changing the navigator device of his car to Finnish a couple of years ago.
He wasn't able to change it back for several days - and then it took him hours. ;)
