Now, you can save up your tokens and buy things (similar to donuts, but wait for it...) like costumes for various characters (Homer's chili boots or military school uniforms for Bart and Lisa), skins for buildings, items from previous events (Marge's witch costume, those funky hot rods, Whacking Day snakes) etc. Now, say Homer's astronaut suit (and inert carbon rod) costs 100 tokens. It would take over 3 months to save up to buy one thing, right? Well, you can also use them to gamble at the dog track or Indian Casino and increase our tokens, or lose them and start over. EA could sell tokens the same way they do donuts, but it might be more fun without that option. And the items you win can only be bought with tokens, not cash or donuts.
Not everyone played through the X-mas Event, therefore those people wouldn't have the Tokens.
