"Lisa releases snakes" tested.
Well, I don't know. I went to put eggs to my friends' towns and when I came back to mine all my snakes were gone. I managed to find one more and whack it, but 46 snakes just poofed and I haven't gotte...

So my conclusion is. She does not steal from you. She sets snakes free. Free to be whacked by you again. You don't lose snakes this way, you just have to work a little harder.
My wife and I did the exact same test as you Peter with our iPads, my wife my neighbour and vice versa.
The exact same result as yours. When I saw the message of losing snakes I became interested and thought it doesn't sound right to me.
I was going to make a thread about my results until I saw yours.
